Overview#

The HR Admin console is the central place for HR Administrators to manage the full employee lifecycle, run bulk operations, and review organization-wide data.

Purpose#

Give HR Administrators a map of where each HR-admin task lives, especially bulk operations, onboarding/offboarding, and read-only rollups of other modules.

Prerequisites#

  • An HR Administrator account.

Step-by-Step Instructions#

Employee lifecycle operations#

  1. Go to Employees for the full employee list, with transfer, change-manager, promote, change-department, status, archive, and restore actions.
  2. Use Bulk Operations for import, export, bulk update, bulk archive, and bulk notify across many employees at once.
  3. Go to Org for an organization-wide overview.

Onboarding#

  1. Start onboarding for a new hire from the Onboarding area.
  2. Track onboarding progress, and issue equipment as part of the onboarding flow (this ties into Asset Management IT-kit issuance).

Offboarding#

  1. Initiate offboarding for a departing employee from the Offboarding area.
  2. Review the offboarding timeline and any related documents.

Read-only rollups and governance#

  1. Use the read-only views into Attendance, Leave, Payroll, and Compensation for organization-wide visibility (the Payroll view here is read-only — see the note below).
  2. Use Documents, Compliance, Audit, and Reports for governance and oversight.
  3. Use the Workflows approval inbox for HR-level approvals, and Notifications to manage HR-wide notices.

Expected Results#

HR Administrators can run the full employee lifecycle end to end and get organization-wide visibility without switching to individual employee records one at a time.

Not Available in This Release#

🚫
Not currently available
  • The HR Admin Payroll view is read-only in this release — it lists periods and runs but does not let you create, preview, submit, approve, finalize, or lock a payroll run from this screen. See Payroll for where that actually happens today (the API supports it; the web UI for executing a run does not yet).

Common Mistakes#

  • Trying to run payroll from the HR Admin Payroll screen and finding no action buttons — this view is read-only by design in this release.
  • Using bulk-archive without first exporting the affected employee list for your own records.
  • Skipping the onboarding equipment-issuance step and having IT chase down asset assignment separately.

Troubleshooting#

A bulk import failed partway through.#

Check the bulk-operations result/export for row-level errors. Fix the source data and re-run the import for the failed rows rather than the entire file, to avoid duplicating already-imported records.

I need to run payroll but the screen has no action buttons.#

This is expected in the current release — the HR Admin Payroll screen is read-only. Payroll runs are executed through the API today; talk to your implementation team about how payroll is actually being run for your tenant.

FAQ#

Can I run payroll from HR Admin?

Not in this release — the HR Admin Payroll page is a read-only, two-tab view of periods and runs. See Payroll for details on this gap.

Where do I see a tamper-evident audit trail?

The Audit area in HR Admin surfaces the system’s audit log, which uses a rolling hash chain to detect tampering. See Security for how the chain is verified.

How do I equip a new hire with a laptop during onboarding?

Onboarding supports equipment issuance, which draws from the IT Kit templates in Asset Management.

Best Practices#

  • Use bulk operations for anything touching more than a handful of employees — it is faster and leaves a clearer audit trail than one-by-one edits.
  • Review the Compliance and Audit areas on a regular cadence, not just during an actual audit.
